What is Growing Forward Together?
Growing Forward Together (GFT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a knowledge hub for scientifically-proven education programs to address trauma and its long-term effects. We work toward a world where trauma history, gender, and race are no longer predictors of outcomes.
We offer
Survivor Moms’ Companion® for pregnant and parenting people,
Trauma & Society for teens and emerging adults, and
Professional Development for the people who work with survivors.
The trauma and education experts at GFT combine content knowledge and teaching experience to create programs that really advance the skill level of learners. Consequently, the professionals who work with survivors—in perinatal services, youth-serving, or other human service or healthcare organizations—gain confidence that they can help with trauma-related needs. That means people with trauma gain the ability to manage trauma-related challenges.
Our programs for survivors are especially rich in information about complex trauma from childhood maltreatment. Our work brings strong resources—information, skills, and emotional support while learning—to survivors during childbearing and the transition to adulthood.
Our programs for the health and human services workforce go beyond “Trauma 101” to fill the gap between universal trauma-informed care and specialist treatment for trauma-related mental health conditions.
