The Fitting Room

Every survivor mom is different and unique, but many survivor moms share common trauma related difficulties during their pregnancies and after delivering their babies.

Examples of trauma related difficulties:

  • Having distressing dreams about past abuse
  • Feeling detached from your body or baby or pregnancy... like it's not real
  • Feeling like trauma is happening all over again... maybe during prenatal visits or exams or when the baby moves
  • Avoiding some people or places because they remind you of the trauma
  • Fearing labor or birth
  • Worrying about if you will be a good enough mother
  • Having a hard time sleeping or focusing
  • Being irritable or easy to anger
